Shirtdress season is here!
Happy Thursday everyone! ENTER THE PERFECT day drinking/brunch-going/apple picking outfit for fall! Or just the perfect transitional outfit from summer to fall! It’s an open shoulder dress with ruffles from Forever for only TEN DOLLARS: Only $10! That’s essentially two coffees at Starbucks (but for some reason when it’s coffee it’s SO justifiable).
A shirt dress is my favorite go-to outfit (other than jeans and a sweater) because it looks good, it’s comfortable, and you don’t feel under or overdressed (personally I feel like I’m always overdressed but what are you gonna do?) I always tell my family: “when I die, spread my ashes inside Bloomingdales!” I truly feel like my best self inside a department store. LOL. If you don’t know me, you probably think that I’m kidding. I’m not.
Anyways! When I saw this ruffle dress with the shoulder cut-outs I truly couldn’t resist! And for $10! I mean! On a nice fall day (when it’s not short of 1000 degrees) I think this would pair perfectly with a cute jean jacket (mine is Levi –> linked below), and some sneakers. You could totally wear little booties as well.
The EASIEST way to add a pop of color to your outfit is to invest in a colored purse. My choice was blue. Blue is honestly one of my favorite colors so that’s why!
***IMPORTANT STYLING TIP
I think if you’re ever feeling unsure of what to wear, or you and your friends are going somewhere and you’re the one staring inside of your closet while they’re waiting for you, put on a monochrome (all white/all black/all beige) outfit, and grab a colored purse. It’s the EASIEST way to be comfy/stylish/and still MATCH! That’s why I think investing in ONE colored purse (I’ve linked a few options below), is smart. You will use it WAY more than you think.
I bought this blue Prada purse in Miami, and I remember thinking *wow I’m only going to use this in the summer,* WRONG – (donald trump voice). This is actually the purse that I use the most! With a little help from my styling tip, pretty soon, YOU’LL be the one waiting for your friends. Ha.
I hope this helps you get dressed for all those fall activities I know you have planned! Comment below if you like my color-pop idea 🙂
